One of these tools is Canva, a platform that will help you improve the visual part of your activity on networks. It probably sounds familiar to you, but do you know how it works and how to get the most out of it?
Canva is a graphic design software created back in 2012 and launched a year later by Melanie Perkins, Cliff Obrecht and Cameron Adams in Australia. His goal is to democratize design, so that anyone can easily create aesthetic works and share them if they wish.

Much of the success of the tool is due to the fact that it is based on the classic drag and drop format, which makes it easy and intuitive to use.
Likewise, we can not only limit ourselves to designing creatives for social networks, but we can create all kinds of works. From posters, to pamphlets or different stationery designs, among many other possibilities. All this for free… or almost.
The tool offers three different plans depending on your needs: Canva Free, Canva Pro ($12.95 per month) and Canva for Teams ($14,99 per month for the first 5 people).
The free plan is the most complete. It has 5GB of storage, puts at our disposal a wide range of graphic elements, templates, designs, stock photos, etc., and it will help us to obtain great results. In addition, this version allows you to invite other people to design and collaborate on our projects, as well as the ability to send designs to the printer and have them delivered to your home.
Regarding the payment plans, Canva Pro is intended for a single user and Canva for Teams is designed to be used by two or more users. Both extend the free offer with a greater number of templates, new resources, greater storage capacity and other additional advantages.

Two great products that, however, have two big drawbacks: they require a certain degree of knowledge to take advantage of their full potential and, above all, they are very expensive.


Maybe that’s why a tool like this can be so successful. One of the greatest virtues is its ability to adapt to the needs of those of us who work in social networks easily and quickly. It offers the possibility of creating a wide variety of designs and formats, perfect for designing the creatives you need to publish on your social networks.
From its menu, you can quickly choose what type of design you need: a Facebook cover, a Twitter profile image, banners… Even infographics fall within the scope of this tool. In addition, you will not have to worry about the dimensions of your creations since depending on the format you choose, it will already give you the appropriate measurements.
It is not necessary to have design knowledge to be able to use Canva, it is an intuitive and very simple tool. The first thing you’ll need to do is sign in or, if you don’t already have one, create an account.
To create an account in Canva you can do it with Google, Facebook or with your email, among other options. After registering, the tool will ask you for the use you want to give it (teacher, student, staff, small business…). This will help you to better filter the options that it provides you by default.
Once you access your profile, you can start creating. To do this, it makes it very easy for you and offers you different options in its central menu. In addition to giving you the option to search directly for the type of work with which you want to work.
If you want to continue with a project that has already started, you can access them by displaying the left side menu and clicking on “Projects”. You’ll also find your recent designs in the “For You” section of the central menu.
Once you have chosen the format that best suits your needs, all you have to do is choose one of the predesigned templates and tweak it, or bet on a blank design and use your own creativity, playing with hundreds of designs, fonts and decorative elements that feed the Canva catalog.

Once you’re done, you can download your masterpiece in different formats (PNG, JPG, PDF, GIF, MP4…), by clicking on the “share” button, located in the upper right bar. The tool saves your designs automatically, so you don’t have to worry about whether or not your progress is recorded. The icon of a cloud with a check inside it, located in the top bar of the editor, indicates that this is taking place without problems.
To start creating an image for networks, we just have to select the “social networks” option in the central menu and scroll to see the options that they give you, or enter in the search engine what type of post or for which network we want to create .
If we access the templates, above these, a central menu will appear with filters according to the theme or business you want to direct your post to. As with the resources and graphic elements, there are templates that are paid or that belong to the pro plan.
To start creating the graphic corporate identity of your brand, the first step is to type the word “logo” in the search engine. After this, the platform will show you a multitude of ICGs templates (some paid and others free).
As always, you can select the filters you want in the central menu if you want to view only templates of a specific theme, or scroll through all the template options.
Then you just have to give free rein to your imagination and modify the chosen template. You can play with the fonts, shapes, colors and add or remove the elements you want until you get an ICG that reflects your brand values.
With this tool you can design infographics of all kinds, from time lines, to presentations, educational or advertising infographics, among many other options, the limit is set by you. The steps to follow are very similar to those of the previous cases. We can either search for “infographics” in the search engine, or access the “More” tab and select the “Infographics” option.
After this, we access the infographic templates, filter and select one to have a starting point or open a blank canvas on which to display our imagination. And we begin to create.
If what you want is to browse among the more than 250,000 templates to which it gives you free access to inspire you and discover all the formatting and composition possibilities that you have at your disposal. You can access them through the left side menu of the home screen, clicking on “Templates”.
Like many other platforms, it didn’t take long to integrate artificial intelligence into its system to offer a more complete experience to its users. Thanks to this, it presented two new functions, one based on the generation of images and the other on text generation.
For a few months now, within the Canva editor itself, you can make use of an AI that generates images to create unique works to include in your compositions. To do this, it implemented the Stable Diffusion model, on which tools such as Dreamstudio or Wepik are also based. This function can be found within the “Apps” section located in the left side menu of the editor.
In case you are not convinced, you can select the option “create again”, to generate new images, or “start over”, to correct your sentence and give new instructions.
To create this tool, he has leveraged the open source GPT-3 algorithm. It should be noted that, in the case of this function, it is only available in Canva documents. That is, you will not be able to use it in the image or design editor.
Therefore, open a document from the central menu or by searching for “document” in the search engine. Once inside the document editor, you must click on the plus symbol (+) that appears next to the header and select the “Magic Writing” option. After this, a text box will appear where you must enter a description, in five or more words, of the topic on which you want this AI to generate a text.
When the text is generated, you can edit it to your liking and make all the changes you want to the document, both in style (color, font, structure…) and content, adding more text or removing part of it. And, of course, you can use this tool again as many times as you want.
